PATCH Programme Assistance Technique des Chrétiens Haïtiens
About

Founded in 1998,
in Port‑au‑Prince.

A Haitian organisation, started by a pastor, and incorporated in Massachusetts.

How we started

PATCH — Programme Assistance Technique des Chrétiens Haïtiens — was founded on 24 June 1998 in Port‑au‑Prince by Rev. Jean Renaud Tisma, a pastor. It is recognised by the government of Haiti.

It is also incorporated in Massachusetts, and that is where the United States side of the work is run — the administration, the fundraising, and the board.

Our mission

Relief, and instruction.

Programme Assistance Technique des Chrétiens Haïtiens, Inc. (PATCH) is a nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for educational, medical, and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Specifically, the corporation is organized and operated to provide relief to the poor, distressed, and underprivileged in Haiti who suffer from a lack of nutritious food and adequate healthcare, and to provide education and instruction to those residing in Haiti by donating necessary school supplies and equipment and by providing access to teachers. Through this work, we aim to help impoverished families and children in Haiti overcome the extreme emotional hardships they have endured for decades.

Our goals are to improve the health and the economic, social, and educational well‑being of the people of Haiti. PATCH will bring real and lasting change to families and children living in poverty in Haiti. We will reduce their daily struggles, invest in their potential, and give them the opportunity to grow up healthy, well‑fed, educated, and economically secure, prepared to succeed and contribute to society.

What that looks like today. The work is concentrated in Gonaïves and Ouanaminthe. It includes a vocational training centre and a programme that has taken more than 700 women through farming, trade, reading and arithmetic since 2012, alongside the school supplies and equipment we send to children whose families cannot buy them. Get involved

No one here does this alone.

We are a small organisation. A gift, an hour, or a phone call from someone who knows how to do something we don’t all go a long way.
